This short course is an overview designed to provide you with the tools and knowledge to perform your daily tasks in relation to moving and handling Dangerous Goods by sea. In addition, it is Best Practice to also access and understand your organisations specific procedures for storing and handling Dangerous Goods. This can be covered in more detail with on-site training.

• Apply the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Regulations correctly
• Identify your responsibilities with regards to the transport of Dangerous Goods.
• Be aware of the nine hazard classes of Dangerous Goods.
• Apply the List of Dangerous Goods.
• Apply correct segregation of loaded Dangerous Goods sea freight.
• Properly mark and label Dangerous Goods.
• Complete the required documentation.
• Follow the general emergency procedures when a damaged/leaking package is discovered.
• Report incidents/accidents/occurrences and mis-declarations of Dangerous Goods.
